Julie Laghi
Chair

Julie Laghi and her husband, Franco arrived in Richmond, Virginia in 1985. They came to Richmond because of Franco's new job assignment. Prior to moving to Richmond, Virginia; they lived for six years in Sydney, Australia and also in Singapore. In the year 1998, when the AASoCV was established, she joined as a Board of Trustee representing the Chinese Community. Today, she represents the Singapore Community. She retired from restaurant consultancy work in 2009. Upon her retirement, she decided to step up and served on the Executive Board. She has served as Secretary for two terms, as Vice Chair for two terms and an additional year due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. She looks forward to serving another term on the Board with her team of officers.

Andrew Armada
Vice Chair

Andrew, with his wife, Greta and their 2 children moved to Richmond in 2008. He works in the financial services industry as a Data/Business Analyst. He came to the US when he was 12 years old and grew up in Southern California. He joined AASoCV back in 2018, serving as a Board of Trustee representing the Filipino community. He is the current President of the Filipino American Association of Central Va. Being involved in both organizations allows him to give back and make a difference in the community. Andrew has successfully written grant proposals for AASoCV and has spearheaded community empowerment programs.

Purwanti Ruff
Treasurer
Purwanti moved to the USA during the Summer of 2004 and she lived in Carlisle, PA for three years before she moved to Richmond along with her husband as her husband decided to take a teaching position with Richmond Public Schools. They have two children, one who just started her college at California College of the Arts and the youngest starts his middle school at Binford. She graduated from VCU with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She has worked in various positions in Accounting department and she is currently working at Colliers International as a Senior Property Accountant. Her first volunteering position was with Linwood Holton Elementary School where she was the PTA treasurer for three years. She joined AASoCV representing the Indonesian Community as a Board member and it was in the year 2021, she was elected as the treasurer. She is proud to be a member of this Nonprofit organization because it allows her to give back to the community and be part of a greater cause.
Rajbans Joshi
Community Relations Director
Rajbans Joshi and his wife Kim have been in Richmond since 2010 and are proud to be a part of the Indian and Asian community in Richmond. Rajbans is a Product Owner at AMC Technology and Kim is a Scrum Master at Anthem. They have been married since 2012 and both of them are avid travelers, hardcore foodies and always ready to experiment something new and adventurous. Rajbans joined AASoCV in the year 2020 as a Board of Trustee member representing the Indian community. He loves interacting with people and getting engaged in various volunteering activities and he hopes that he gets to do both in the year ahead.
Sita Nuenighoff
Secretary
Sita came to the US in 1983. She met her husband Curt at the end of her graduate studies and prior to moving to Richmond in 2015, has lived in New Haven, CT; New York City; Annapolis MD and Blacksburg VA. She has two adult sons, one working for Georgetown University in DC, and the other has a videography business based in Denver, CO. Sita has been a Board of Trustee representing Indonesian community since 2017, has enjoyed her role as AASoCV’s Program Chair for a year and she is now serving in the role of Secretary. Sharing her heritage and culture with the community is a passion of hers. She also shares her culture by performing traditional Javanese and Balinese Gamelan music with the musical ensemble Gamelan Raga Kusuma at the University of Richmond.
